The Rock Club is 10!

News

The Rock Club is ten years old this weekend. Started as an idea in 2004, when sending music news around the office and going to gigs that people just wanted to comment on or record their memories of, the past ten years has been a happy ride of concerts, festivals and friendships made.

What became abundantly clear early on was just how much new music there was out there and how much sunk into obscurity without anyone hearing what was on offer. A decade on the volume of new music has probably quadrupled, but we still aim to bring you bands and artists that may not have crossed your radar, as well as covering the general musical news that we think is worth shouting about.

I have to heartily thank all the Rock Clubbers who keep the site ticking over with reviews, photos, news and recommendations. Thanks to all the bands, artists, managers, labels, festivals and PR companies who have kept our inbox overflowing with news and music over the past decade.

If you want your music heard or you fancy sharing your musical experiences of the past or the present, please do continue to get in touch via This email address is being protected from spambots. You need JavaScript enabled to view it.

Here's looking forward to the next ten years of musical discovery!

Introducing Rubato

News

When you hear the word 'Classical' and 'Rock' in the same sentence it can sometimes send a shiver down the spine in overblown trepidation. With Rubato however it’s worth taking a chance. Yes undoubtedly they are classical but, with added post rock and electro vibes the band are certainly an original proposition.

Rubato is made up of Russian born concert pianist Marina Lieberman, drummer Yuval Juva Wetzler, and multi-instrumentalist producer Raz Olsher.
