Luke Sital-Singh announces new Album & Tour

News

Luke Sital-Singh has today announced release details for his forthcoming album, alongside a new video

Luke will release new album Time Is A Riddle on 12th May  He's trailing the announcement with this video for new single 'Killing Me', written in tribute to his Grandmother. Yuo can watch the video HERE

Speaking about the video, Luke says; “It’s cut from digitised cine films that my wife’s late grandfather shot in the Seventies. They were only sent to us recently because her parents were in the process of moving to Vancouver. When I watched them, the nostalgic nature and the parallels with both our grandparents, it just felt tonally right, and a little note of serendipity".

Luke recorded Time Is A Riddle with Tommy McLaughlin (Villagers) in Donegal, with the album's lino print artwork created by Luke's wife (printmaker Hannah Cousins) from a photo of a windswept tree in Donegal. Luke will be playing a 13 date headline tour around the album release, including London Union Chapel on May 23 (full dates below).

New single & dates for C. Duncan

News

Glasgow’s C Duncan released his second album ’The Midnight Sun' last October. ‘Like You Do’ is the latest single to be taken from ‘The Midnight Sun,' alongside brand new offering 'Nothing At All.’ Three remixes will complete the deluxe package, set for digital release on March 17th via FatCat Records.

"This, for me, is one of the more unsettling songs on the album” Duncan tells us, “It’s about being deprived of satisfaction and suffering as a result". This theme of depravity is mirrored through the songs instrumentation. The listener is first teased with a skittering beat and a spiralling synth line that leaves the track bare and exposed. As layers of vocals and synth are gradually introduced, 'Like You Do' gains an almost uplifting confidence that offers an opposition to this depravity. Previously unheard track 'Nothing At All' produces a dreamlike atmosphere that could only be conjured by C Duncan's ability to seamlessly weave vocals in and out of warm synths and gentle melodies.

 With a brand new and bigger live show in tow, C Duncan has some dates on the horizon;

The Magpie Salute - Four London Dates

News

Due to overwhelming demand and just after the recent announcement of their first-ever UK performances, The Magpie Salute, who are spearheaded by guitarist Rich Robinson, have just announced a fourth show at London’s Under The Bridge on 15th April.

Tickets for the new date will go on general sale this Friday 10th at 10am and will be available through Eventim.

APRIL

Wed   12th – Under The Bridge SOLD OUT
Thurs 13th – Under The Bridge
Fri      14th – Under The Bridge
Sat     15th – Under The Bridge

The back-to-back four date run follows the roaring success of four sold-out dates at The Gramercy Theatre in New York earlier this month.

Formed by Rich Robinson, the guitarist and co-founding member of The Black Crowes, The Magpie Salute is a new band bringing together two other key members of Crowes fame, guitarist Marc Ford and bassist Sven Pipien, alongside members of Rich Robinson's own band; drummer Joe Magistro, keyboardist Matt Slocum and guitarist Nico Bereciartua. The Magpie Salute also boasts a fine cast of vocalists, including lead singer John Hogg (Hookah Brown, Moke), former Crowes singer Charity White and background singers, Adrien Reju and Katrine Ottosen.

The band will be performing songs from The Black Crowes catalogue as well as solo material from Rich and Marc plus “whatever else may materialise,” says Robinson. At the Gramercy shows, the band’s set lists varied from night to night keeping the music fresh for the musicians and the audience. Ford comments “I don’t think I would do very well in a situation where there’s no danger. It has to stay interesting to us. If we weren’t in to it, how could the listener be?”

They also recently revealed a performance of the song ‘Coming Home’, which begins with a tribute to late keyboardist Eddie Harsch (who passed away on 4th Nov.), another founding member and Black Crowes alumni who was set to perform with the band.

The video was filmed in August last year at Applehead Studios, Woodstock where The Magpie Salute’s seeds were planted, and features Harsch talking, rehearsing, and performing with the band. “This recording came from the last time I got to play with Eddie Harsch,” says Robinson. “He was my friend and musical teacher. His mastery and subtlety will forever be an inspiration.”

Take a Bow - The Little Kicks

News

The Little Kicks first emerged five years ago from Aberdeen. For their third album a relocation  was called for, and in the Spring of 2015 the band packed their kit and set off for a lodge by Loch Ness in which they would penned ten songs that would come to make up “Shake Off Your Troubles”. Late night recording sessions in Edinburgh and then mastered at Abbey Road, the album is now ready for release on 3rd March via Loosen Up Records

Lead singer Steven Milne says; “This new album is a collection of songs that means a lot to me and I feel it reflects a massive increase in both my own and the band’s confidence and abilities. There have been ups and downs personally since we last released music but I’m happy to say that on the whole we have grown to be more proud of what we do and to be less reticent to shout about it and our music. The themes of the record would be a feeling of happiness, gratitude and to be thankful with what you have and not take things for granted. Furthermore, not to let others get you down or let anyone put you in your place. In 2017 when the album is released I can’t wait to let people hear it and I hope these sentiments carry through to those who listen to it.”

Tour dates to be announced shortly.
