The release of ‘Time Is A Riddle’ also coincides with the first in a series of short films Luke has made in collaboration with various Slow Makers round the country. Speaking about his interest in the ‘Slow Movement’ of makers & craftspeople, Luke says; “I’m inspired by people who step aside from the craziness and dedicate their lives to mastering making simple things well. I wanted to meet these people, highlight their work and see what I could learn about my own work through theirs.”

Speaking about the new album ahead of his upcoming 11 date UK tour, Luke says; “I wanted every single second of it to be thought through and yet remain organic and instinctual. Which is perhaps an impossibility, but I think we got close and I couldn’t be prouder of it. I’m so happy it’s finally out in the world.”

Rose which follows two young girls hitchiking together and ending up in a bar where Justin is playing. He told Billboard: "It reminded me a lot of playing the Springwater in Nashville. When I was 15 years old I would play from noon 'til seven at night there. There used to be this [girl] that showed up in mini-skirts and halter tops and she and her friends would dance in front of the stage. There'd be two old drunks at the bar, the girls dancing in front of me - and those girls never looked like the ones in the video, that's for sure."

Damien Dempsey - New Album & Tour

News

Damien Dempsey released his debut album in 2000, 'They Don’t Teach This Shit in School', which set him apart as a unique and important voice which, is still true to this day.

Now seventeen years into his career, Damien Dempsey releases his seventh studio album, 'Soulsun', which featues a stellar cast of female guest vocalists, referred to in the sleeve notes as ‘the mighty Celtic Warrior High Queens’. Dido joins Damien on a tender love song, 'Beside the Sea' and fellow Dubliner, Imelda May, appears on 'Big Big Love', an anthemic rock love song and  'Pretty Bird Tree' features Dingle singer Pauline Scanlon, a regular collaborator over the years.

'Soulsun' was recorded with long-term producer and collaborator, John Reynolds in north London. Damien lived in London for months, immersing himself in writing songs and soaking up inspiration from London's rich tapestry of all human life. ‘This might sound strange but London is a real retreat for me” he explains. “I don’t know too many people in London, so I don’t go out raving or partying. When I go to the pub, it will usually be somewhere around Kilburn, sitting on my own with a notebook’
