Tips for 2017: Courtney Marie Andrews

News

Signed to Loose Music in Europe, Courtney's album 'Honest Life' was released in the U.S. last year. It appears in the U.K. on 20th January and if you like Emmylou Harris, Gillian Welch or Caitlin Rose, (yes, we are talking that league) then head down to you local record store on 'New Music Friday'

A voice as pure as freshly fallen snow, the ten songs on the album just seep into your concisous and take you to a place of happy contentment.

Tips for 2017: Ye Vagabonds

News

Ye Vagabonds are brothers Diarmuid and Brían MacGloinn, originally from Carlow, now living in Dublin. 2017 should see the release of their debut album and we expect great things from them.

So far they have released a mini album, "Rose & Briar", and they are playing all the time, from pub sessions to their own shows to tours supporting Glen Hansard and Lisa Hannigan. Filmmaker Myles O'Reilly has directed a number of wonderful videos featuring the brothers.

Tips for 2017: Darlingside

News

Darlingside hail from Boston, MA and combine Americana and folk with added strings to marvellous effect. They were the hit of last year's Cambridge Folk festival and with the release of their album 'Birds Say' plus, a winter tour of the UK in February (with some dates sold out), 2017 looks to be a great year for this fine band.

The return of The Dears with Two-Part Album & Live Dates

News

The Dears are sharing 'We Lost Everything' from, new album 'Times Infinity Volume One' (out 3rd February). The record is their first studio album release in six years and will form part of a 2-record project, with Volume Two due for release later in 2017.

The Montréal band will pay their first UK shows since 2011 in February;

First tip for 2017 is LA band The Molochs

News

The Molochs 'America’s Velvet Glory' the follow-up album to their 2013 debut, 'Forgetter Blues' is out on 13th January on Innovative Leisure Records. 

The band are a new signing to Innovative Leisure and have just been confirmed for Primavera 2017. They play their first UK shows in May next year but while we are waiting, here is the video ‘You And Me’ ‘You And Me’  The Stones circa. 1966 revisited? The band say the Molochs it's said are taking the past apartt, not trying to recreate it.

Certainly a band to watch this year!

The Beat Co-Headline Tour with The Selecter

News

A great song to see out 2016 is The Beat’s brand new single, 'Side to Side', taken from their fourth album ‘Bounce’ and released as double A-side 7” vinyl with a track from label mates and life-long friends The Selecter. The two bands played live from Maida Vale on 13 December for Steve Lamacq's Christmas Ska Party on BBC Radio 6. 

A joint headline tour is sheduled for 2017 in the meantime, take a look at the video for 'Side to Side' HERE
