Thea Gilmore - 'The War'
- News
A quite outstanding new song from Thea Gilmour, 'The War' .. watch the video here (to the end) and follow the lyrics below;
THE WAR
She took a walk
Past rebels and boys who talk
Raised up her hand and fought
To bridge a divide
And the screen ghosts moaned
Flickered in every home
The teeth of the times grew long
And glittered with pride
Cos the war
It isn’t out there
Like before
It isn’t out there
But they’ll show you the blood on the face of a child
They’ll sell you your heartbreak so perfectly styled
and they’ll tell you to take your position and man the frontier
But take a look at that box on your desk
Take a look at that heart in your chest
Take a look at those thoughts in your head
The war’s already here
From sea to sea
From Warcraft to MTV
The language of absentees
Is zeros and ones
And Orlando aches
The French Riviera shakes
That avalanche overtakes
The roar of the guns
Its so easy to hide
Behind imagined Ironsides
Nostalgic and misty eyed
When the wolf’s at the door
In the tide of hate
Throw down the counterweight
Tear up that flag and say
You’re worthy of more
Cos she took a walk
Past rhetoric and empty talk
Raised up her hand and fought
To bridge a divide
You can cut that stem
But wild flowers grow again
All you can do is just tend to them
And know that you tried
Saint Sister, 'Tin Man'
- News
Watch the new video from Saint Sister, 'Tin Man'. Directed by Bob Gallagher and inspired by The Wizard Of Oz, the video is the perfect visual accompaniment to this sweet single which is out now on Vinyl via Communion Singles Club.
The duo, Morgan MacIntyre and Gemma Doherty released their debut EP Madrid last year and following live shows now comes 'Tin Man' which, was partly inspired by John Donne’s poem 'The Sun Rising', Morgan saying of the song “Tin Man is about having a dream-like faith in a specific person. It's about feeling the presence and weight of that person on an innate, instinctual level and trusting that despite not being able to see them, they are most certainly there”. Both tracks on the single were recorded alongside Alex Ryan, the bassist with Hozier.
Gulp Share New Single 'Search for your Love'
- News
Gulp are a Cardiff-based, dreamy garage space-pop band fronted by Guto Pryce (Super Furry Animals) & Lindsey Leven. Today they're sharing their new single 'Search For Your Love', which is out now via Tim Burgess’ label O Genesis.
Offering some insight into the new single, singer Lindsey Leven said: “I get really vivid dreams and often wake up with tunes or stories in my head and lyrically this is one of those - it’s a timeless love story really, but nods towards an eager search for love and empathy in an increasingly surreal and chaotic world.”
Recorded in the summer of 2016 on a farm in mid Wales, ‘Search For Your Love’ follows on from the band’s last album release ‘Season Sun’ in 2014, and Gulp are currently working on their second album, which is set to be released in 2017.
