Lynyrd Skynyrd - Vinyl Box Set 1973-1977

News

Well if this was 1972 we would be saying a band to watch out for in 1973 would be Lynyrd Skynyrd without a doubt. One of the finest purveyors of raw southern Rock, over forty years has passed by since the release of '(Pronounced 'Lĕh-'nérd 'Skin-'nérd)'.

I think my vinyl copy of 'One More From The Road' wore out around 1980 after continual Friday night plays and ever since a CD version has been in the drawer. Help is at hand though, later this month Universal are releasing the band's 70's LP's again, this time in a box set. Whilst the Band still play today under the Lynyrd Skynyrd banner, there can be no denying that pre that tragic plane crash, this was a band in their prime!

Each LP will have exact reproductions of original artwork and will be pressed to 180 gram heavyweight audiophile vinyl and contained in a rigid slipcase box.

The box set is out on 2th January and will contain

(Pronounced 'Lĕh-'nérd 'Skin-'nérd) (1973)
Second Helping (1974)
Nuthin' Fancy (1975)
Gimme Back My Bullets (1976)
One More From The Road (1976)
Street Survivors (1977)

Robin Trower Album & UK Tour

News

Back in 1973 Robin Trower struck out on his own after a stint with Procol Harum and released 'Twice Removed from Yesterday' followed in quick succession by "Bridge Of Sighs" (1974), "For Earth Below" (1975),"Live" (1976) and "Long Misty Days" (1977).

These albums are all equally powerful and heavy without being metal and perhaps even can be deemed part of the dawn of post-Rock heaviness with the channelled soulful vocals of the late great Bassist James Dewar and drummer Bill Lordan.

These magnificent records are the bedrock of Robin's career yet 2015 see's the release of what must be something like his 20th album ' Something's About to Change' on 9th March via Manhaton/V12 records as well a UK tour with special guest Joanne Shaw Taylor

Robin celebrates his 70th birthday on the release date of the album. Don't miss these shows!
