Iain has our first Top Ten list of 2021

1.  Mastodon -  Hushed and Grim

I love loud, vicious, void filling rock, it’s my thing, right. But it has to be intelligent, thought provoking, discreet when required, but ultimately well executed and relevant. This album ticks all my requirements in spades. Add the detail that it’s a full 90 minute requiem is a bonus. There is a genuine raw painful theme throughout in the writing that translates for the listener from the excellent performance. It would be trite to call this a covid inspired album, it’s so much more than that, it relates the pain of personal loss, worry for the future, but ultimate hope that the future will be inspired by our current global travails.

2.  Joe Bonamassa - Time Clocks

3.  Fito y Fitipaldis - Cada vez cadaver

4.   Iron Maiden - Senjutsu

5.  Ross Jennings - A shadow of my future self

6.  Dion - Stompin Ground

7.  Thunder - All the right noises

8.  Don Broco - Amazing Things

9. Robert Jon & the Wreck - Shine a light on me brother

10. Elvie Shane - Backslider
