A great night at the 100 capacity Heartbreakers featuring three excellent bands.

First up was local favourite Owen Hackett singing songs mainly about love but throwing one in about working in a call centre.

ZoĆ« Mead (a.k.a. Wyldest) is another favourite of ours having provided us with great entertainment at one of our very first post lockdown gigs at the Joiners. Despite being on her own,  completely owns the stage with her guitar, keys and synth wizardry.

Headliners were Our Girl. Fronted by Sophie (Big Moon), the lineup this evening complemented on keys by Fern, also Big Moon.  I feel this is a band that has taken a while to find its position on the musical landscape but they have a real identity now and performed most of recent album The Good Kind;  wishful melodies in the main but rocking out with indie guitars in many numbers. The set list was book ended with top tracks from the new album, kicking off with' It'll Be Fine' and concluding with 'Something About Me Being A Woman'.

 Top evening!
