Jenn Vix,  a singer, songwriter, multi-instrumentalist, and producer shares her Top Ten faves of 2021

Top 10 Track Picks of 2021

1. Swedish House Mafia, The Weeknd - Moth To A Flame
This track is 3:54, but I always press play again; It's so good, that it's not a long enough track for me. Chills and thrills!

2. Wet Leg - Chaise Longue
The music goes hard, and the lyrics are hilarious! This is brilliant Post-Punk music!

3. Sickick - Talking To The Moon (Bruno Mars Remix)
Dreamy and beautiful, but with a fire beat! I think he's one of the best remixers/DJs/artists, right now.

4. Ya Tseen - Knives (ft. Portugal. The Man)
Chills from the moment it begins. Stunningly beautiful and eerie. Unforgettable!

5. Emmy Meli - I AM WOMAN
A powerful throwback to Northern Soul. Her voice is stellar, and the song is one huge hook!

6. Taylor Swift - Wildest Dreams (Taylor’s Version)
So sexy and beautiful! The lilt in her voice during the chorus is warm and icy at the same time; if that makes any sense.

7. The Weeknd - Take My Breath
I think this track doesn't get enough love. It's gorgeous, and so catchy!

8. Billie Eilish - NDA
Dark, eerie, and subtle, and then when the chorus hits, it's like a rocket taking off. Great nighttime driving music!

9. Ava Vox - Crash
Her voice is powerful! She could sing this A cappella, and it would still be just as intense!

10. Olivia Rodrigo - good 4 u
This track rocks! I always have a giggle when I hear it, because it sounds like she's singing "Good for you, you look happy in Hell". She's been singing and writing music since she was 5 years of age, and that's remarkable!

I'm Jenn Vix, and I'm a singer, songwriter, multi-instrumentalist, and producer. I've previously been in bands, but I went solo a while ago. I still collaborate with other musicians and singers, and I'm also in a Post-Punk duo called Feeney Vix, with guitarist, Feeney, from Boston, MA USA. I've collaborated with band members from the late David Bowie, The Cure, The Psychedelic Furs, Absolute Body Control, and more. My latest release, "PTSD", is about my struggle with the disorder; I've been diagnosed with it. It's also for everyone going through trauma, diagnosed or not.

The most difficult thing about 2021, as a performing musician; along with of the horrible things that have gone on, and the devastating losses we're collectively experiencing, is how difficult it is to play live shows. I got to play one on 11 September, in Boston, MA, and though it was a good night, it was also one of the strangest things I've experienced. So many gigs are being cancelled and or moved, and I hope that things get better for all of us; musicians or not.
