As each passing year goes by and we get a little older and wiser (possibly), the old cliche is that time genuinely seems to be speeding up, especially as we are now reminded that Ash have been an active band for 25 years.....good grief.
The band release Teenage Wildlife : 25 Years of Ash on February 14th, in time for Valentines Day, however don't call this a greatest hits compilation. This is a career retrospective so far. They are by no means a spent force.
Available in various formats, vinyl and CD of course, the latter also available with an 18 track rarities release, the 54 tracks on show here span across all their releases so far, from the buzz-saw urgency of debut Jack Names the Planets, to Buzzkill from their 2018 release Islands.
Ash may also be one of those bands who you recognise more tracks than you think ; think A Life Less Ordinary, Girl From Mars, Burn Baby Burn, Oh Yeah and the magnificent Orpheus......you get the picture.
Closing with the epic Tinseltown, this is a fabulous reappraisal from a consistently great band. A European tour kicks off in February, with some UK dates in March. Catch this no nonsense band while you can. You won't regret it.
