You Owe Nothing is the new album release from Kill it Kid, and it's all you need to kick start your Sunday morning with some dirty British Blues over your, morning after, French roast expresso.

From the outset this is a raw hard-hitting pulse of noise. Black it out kicks in with throaty guitar riff and then a straight into a no apologies bluesy roar of Chris Turpin superbly counterpointed by Steph Ward, something that is a theme of the album especially on the excellent Tired of the way You Want to Live.

This is an album of tunes written in traditional blues angst, love & sex style given a heavy British interpretation. Rarely slowing to less than a full band flat out wall of sound experience, it is eminently likeable, catchy and memorable, every tune quickly feels like a aged favourite with not a single track feeling out of place on a late night rock show.

For me I'll Be First is surprisingly the first single, (and free download), as it feels like the simplest and dare I say weakest of all. I would have thought the stronger Cheap Revival or love lament that is Caroline would have been fantastic singles and complete shoe-in's for ensuring that any right minded rock fan will follow up and buy the album.

Destined to become a great rock album, it’s a strong buy for me.

10/11
