Jeff Tweedy of Wilco will release a new solo (ish) album on 15th September through his own dBpm Records called Sukierae (sue-key-ray). Not quite a solo LP It is the debut release by duo,Tweedy, which features 20 new Jeff Tweedy-written songs, performed by Jeff in a musical collaboration with his 18-year-old son and drummer Spencer Tweedy.
“When I set out to make this record, I imagined it being a solo thing, but not in the sense of one guy strumming an acoustic guitar and singing,” Jeff said. “Solo to me meant that I would do everything – write the songs, play all the instruments and sing. But Spencer's been with me from the very beginning demo sessions, playing drums and helping the songs take shape. In that sense, the record is kind of like a solo album performed by a duo.”
With Spencer on drums, Jeff is also joined by Scott McCaughey, Jess Wolfe and Holly Laessig of the Brooklyn-band Lucius. Take a list to the first song streamed for the project, ‘I’ll Sing It’ and U.S. Tour details are HERE.

Great news in that Centro-matic are releasing a new album on 2nd June called 'Take Pride in Your Long Odds'. Rock & roll veterans now with original line up of the band still intact, there must be some self-refection in the title of the LP.
The band's 11th studio album is summed up by singer-guitarist Will Johnson; "If there are entities telling you that you can't do something," that there's no way something is gonna happen for you—take pride in your work and prove them wrong. If it's worth it to you, you shouldn't give it any less of a chance because of what someone else says."
The next best news would be some UK dates in the not too distance future please!

Having passed this song on to one of the writers at Rock Club Towers, the response was “What a nice track! Beautifully melodic, not my usual bag but it just works. Sung from the heart and that heart has seen life. A hobo-rom com of a song".
The sonic wall of guitars otherwise know as Deathcats debut their long player 'All Hail Deathcats' on 12" vinyl on the 9th of June via Fuzzkill Records
'Shattered' will be Reigning Sound’s first album for Merge and the first full LP by the group since 2009’s Love and Curses.
The band’s principal songwriter/member, Greg Cartwright, has been leading the shifting cast of characters since 2001. This version of the band includes longtime keyboardist Dave Amels, who joined the band seven years ago. Dave proved to be key in putting together the current line-up. of Mike Catanese, Benny Trokan, and Mikey Post
The four flew to Nashville, learned the songs, and recorded them with Greg in a couple of days. They have been touring and playing together ever since, and Shattered which was recorded at Daptone’s Brooklyn studio (engineered by Wayne Douglason) will be out on 14th July 2014.
