Kansas City mother and son duo Madisen Ward & The Mama Bear are back with a brand new single 'Childhood Goodbye'. The track is their first new music since 2015's UK Top 50 debut album 'Skeleton Crew'. 'Childhood Goodbye' is "a song all about growing up, leaving your childhood behind, feeling nostalgia for the past, but ultimately knowing that your past has shaped you into who you are today."
The video for ‘Childhood Goodbye’ debuted on Rolling Stone Country and was produced with HITRECORD which is a community sourced production company founded by actor and director Joseph Gordon-Levitt. The company, of which Ward is a member, is made up of over 650,000 artists from all over the world, and growing all the time.
Says Gordon-Levitt, “Madisen joined HITRECORD years ago, back in the early days, and I always loved his music, but it was extremely different from what he does as Madisen Ward and the Mama Bear. His contributions would range from a surreal muppet-like falsetto about a sad king to a dark, underground-style rap about the blood of wolves. Then, once he blew up, he kept this different side of his creative self alive and running wild undercover on our site. So it’s all the more special that he wanted to make the video for his new Mama Bear song with us. I think a lot of people in the community were really touched, and I was too.”
