Philadelphia psych-rock five-piece, Dr. Dog have announced their first album in five years with ‘Critical Equation’ and are sharing the  lead single ‘Go Out Fighting’

Produced by Gus Seyffert  the new record is due out via We Buy Gold Records/Thirty Tigers on 27th April marks the end to a testing period for the band.

Following an extended break in which members questioned the musical purpose of the group, as well as delving into individual bouts of soul-searching, the quintet broke tradition of recording/self-producing at their own ‘Meth Bath’ studios in Philadelphia to head to LA with Gus.

"We'd been touring and making records for our entire adult lives, and I think we just needed to take a step back," reflects bassist/singer Toby Leaman, who splits fronting and songwriting duties with frontman/guitarist Scott McMicken. "It was important for all of us to figure out if we were actually doing what we wanted to be doing, or if we were just letting momentum carry us down this path we'd always been on.”
